Adult Store 101: In-Store Etiquette

Okay so you've found your store! Yay!

*Upon walking into the place you SHOULD be greeted by staff. If not then make it a point to greet them...say Hello! You're there to buy goodies after all!

We love being treated like real people instead of Dildo dispensing robots! Being friendly with the staff makes us WANT to help you out that much more.

*Take a minute to view the layout of the store and read any signage (if any). A good store will have sections clearly marked by signs or organized neatly by product type.

*Still can't find the section you are looking for? Ask your new friend, The Staff.

In The Novelty Section:

~NEVER open up products on your own. You may damage something you then have to pay for!

~Select no more than 4 things that interest you and bring them to the counter. Ask a Staff member to open the package, ask what questions you have and (if possible) ask them to insert batteries if it's an electronic product so that you can see its movement and features.

~Ask for recommendations!

~Be prepared to answer a few personal preference questions by staff that you may find intimate. Be as clear, honest and descriptive as you can. We are not judging you, just trying to help you better and make the experience personally catered to you.

*Most of the time....you get what you pay for. More expensive toys $60 and up come with a warranty, and are made with higher quality materials.

In The Video Section:

~Pretty straightforward...like the video store.

~At some places you can preview a movie for a small fee, Ask if it's available.

~At some places they have what's called an Arcade...they are small private viewing booths with several channels of movies you can view pay as you go style for a fee.

~You may be able to rent videos as well. If you do make sure to put them back in the right cases!

Lingerie & Apparel:

~ALL lingerie was sized using unfair standards! Sizes tend to run small so don't be surprised if in regular clothes you're a Small but you need a medium or a large!

~Always try items on if fitting rooms are available. Most sales are FINAL!

~Always wear clean underwear if you are going to try things on to avoid embarrassing situations!

~Adult Stores are NOT Victoria Secret. Most of the stock is out on the sales floor. There may be restrictions on how many and what types of items can be tried on.

~If you happened to find something damaged, alert a Staff member.

Lubricants:

~Take advantage of testers! Test a small drop of lubricant or massage oil between two fingers. Smell them if they are scented, Taste them if they are flavored.

~Ask for recommendations based on your preferences.

~Take note of brand names and do some Googling later.

~Never used lube? Don't have a clue? Ask to be shown a basic water based lubricant. Start there and then you can experiment later.

Interacting with the Staff:

~If you were pleased with the level of service....LET US KNOW! It brightens up our little lives and ensures the same level of service next time! You can do so verbally, comment cards, or having a quick word with a superior!

~If you were REALLY impressed by the individual helping you...It is OKAY TO TIP! Most employees don't receive a commission on their sales...We don't expect it at all but it's a nice way to say thank you to someone helping you with something so personal.

~If you have a complaint. Keep Calm! Staff usually can't do a thing without manager approval...If there isn't a manger available, give them a chance to see what's in their power to help correct it.

~Always remember we WANT you to leave happy and come back for more!
